Questions about Hindi text to speech

Should I type Hindi in Devanagari or in Roman letters?

Either works. Devanagari spells every sound exactly, so it is the safest choice for names and pure Hindi; Roman letters are quicker to type and fine for everyday Hindi and Hinglish. A Devanagari letter counts 1.25, but Hindi says the same in fewer letters, so the cost comes out about the same.

Can it read a devotional katha?

Yes. Choose Kathavachak Pandit Ji or Rishi Muni, or a voice with the “Devotional / calm bhajan” or “Amritvaani” tone, and add the Bhakti music and temple ambience in Story mode. It reads and recites — it doesn’t sing.

How much does it cost?

Sign up and get 1,000 free credits — one per person, valid for 30 days, no card needed. A voice costs 200, 300 or 650 credits per 1,000 characters in Swift, Studio or Ultra quality, and short cues in [brackets] are free. A Devanagari letter counts 1.25 (a Roman letter counts 1), because Hindi says the same in fewer letters. The free credits make up to 5 minutes of voice in Swift (about 4 in Studio); plans start at ₹349 a month, and the Studio shows the cost before you make anything.

Can I use the voices on YouTube and Instagram?

Yes — on monetised channels too, within YouTube’s and Instagram’s own rules. You download plain MP3, WAV or MP4 files, with no logo and no audible watermark. You are responsible for what your script says.

Can it sound like a famous person?

No. Every voice is an original character. Requests to copy or imitate a real person, a celebrity or a film or cartoon character are refused, and nothing is charged.
