Questions about video captions

Is the caption generator free?

Signing up is free and a new account starts with 1,000 free credits — about 33 minutes of captions. On Free a video can be up to 10 minutes and the captioned video has a small “Captions by BoliLabs” mark; a plan or any top-up gives up to 3 hours a video, SRT and VTT files and no mark.

Can it make Hindi captions in English letters (Hinglish)?

Yes. Make the captions in Hindi, then press Convert and pick Hinglish: every line is rewritten in Roman letters, with the timing kept. You can also convert to English, or to Hindi in Devanagari. It costs 30 credits for every 50 lines (or every 2,500 characters, if your lines are long).

Which languages does it understand?

99 languages, including Hindi, English, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi and Urdu. Leave Auto-detect on, or pick the language for the best result.

Is my video uploaded?

No. The video stays on your device: the captions are drawn into it right there. Only a small audio track is sent to make the captions — to our speech-to-text partner, AssemblyAI — and it is deleted once the captions are made.

How do I add captions to an Instagram Reel or a YouTube Short?

Choose the video, press Generate, pick a style such as Word pop and set the position to Reels so the app’s buttons don’t cover the captions — the safe-zone guide shows where they fall. Then make the captioned video and post it.

Can I get an SRT file for YouTube?

Yes — with a plan or any top-up, download SRT or VTT and upload it in YouTube Studio under Subtitles. A plain TXT of the captions is free for everyone.

How long can the video be?

Up to 10 minutes on Free and up to 3 hours with a plan or a top-up. For a longer video, pick a part of it with the clip tool and make captions for just that part.
